Structure of turbulence in temporal planar jets

چکیده

A detailed analysis of the structure turbulence in a temporal planar turbulent jet is reported. Instantaneous snapshots flow and three-dimensional spatial correlation functions are considered. It found that characterized by large-scale spanwise vortices whose motion felt entire field. Superimposed to this motion, hierarchy structures present. The most coherent ones take form quasi-streamwise high low streamwise velocity streaks. topology these interacting analyzed quantitatively addressing their shape size different regions. Such information recognized be relevant for structural description otherwise disorganized free-shear flows can used assessment models based on assumptions. Finally, resulting scenario provides phenomenological elementary processes at basis flows.
